On November 2, EDS Secretary General, Tomasz Kaniecki took part in the meeting with young editors of local and school magazines in Poland.
In his speech, he encouraged young writers to engage with news and current affairs by creating their collectives, media literacy projects and working across various school departments. Tomasz focused on the particular role that journalists play in today’s world and underlined the need for support of the professional expertise in media outlets.
Together with participants, Tomasz tried to look for solutions to youth problems associated with media education, participation and more. The topic corresponds with the current agenda of EDS which is focused on tackling fake news through widespread social education. Our contribution was included in the European People’s Party resolution, which will be discussed next week in Brussels during EPP Working Group.
